Homeschool Resources in Dallas-Fort Worth, TX

The Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex has one of the most established homeschool communities in Texas. Co-ops, classes, and activities are plentiful on both sides of the metroplex.

Sports & Movement

WOGA Gymnastics & Metroplex Gymnastics

Both offer daytime classes that work well for homeschool families.

i9 Sports — DFW

Multiple locations across the metroplex. One-day-a-week format that’s easy on parents.

Other Options

  • YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas (homeschool PE programs)
  • Fort Worth Swim League & neighborhood pools
  • Martial arts and dance studios with morning classes
  • Cycling and skate parks for older kids

Nature & Science

Zoo school programs with curriculum tie-ins for life science.

Heard Natural Science Museum (McKinney)

Arts & Culture

Bass Performance Hall & AT&T Performing Arts Center

Both host school-day performances that homeschool groups can attend.

Cooking & Life Skills

Young Chefs Academy — multiple DFW locations

Cooking classes that pull double duty as math and science practice.

Community & Social

Facebook Groups

DFW has dozens of homeschool Facebook groups. Start with these:

  • DFW Homeschoolers — large metro-wide group
  • North Texas Homeschoolers — broader regional network
  • Fort Worth Area Homeschoolers — west side of the metroplex
  • DFW Secular Homeschoolers — non-religious families

Co-ops

DFW has many long-running co-ops including Classical Conversations communities, university-model schools, and activity co-ops. Ask in the Facebook groups for recommendations close to your neighborhood.

The List Goes On

DFW is sprawling, so the best advice is to focus on your side of the metroplex first. Whatever style of homeschooling you’re drawn to — classical, Charlotte Mason, unschooling, eclectic — there’s an active community here. Jump into a few Facebook groups and introduce yourself; you’ll be amazed how quickly doors open.
